A Little About Birthstones

Birthstones are gemstones that are associated with each month. They may be precious stones, such as diamonds, or semi-precious, such as Lapiz Lazuli. In each case they are considered lucky for their particular months and for those who believe in such things their healing powers are heightened during their months.

A Brief History of Beading

The art of beading has been around nearly as long as humans have been. From the moment an ancient human found a shell or stone with a natural perforation and strung it on a piece of vine to wear around their neck, beading has been popular in one form or another. Whether those objects were worn as a religious symbol, for personal adornment or to permeate them with special powers doesn't matter. Bead stringing is the first form of beading and it persists to today. More

Beading Books for Inspiration

It's beading time. You feel like sitting down to start beading, creating something beautiful with all the beads you have. But, our creative mind sometimes refuse to work. I know this phenomena sounds familiar. It is very normal for any beaders to occassionally run out of ideas and inspirations. Here's a list of beading books and magazines, hopefully able to tame your beading addictions.

HOSPIS MALAYSIA CHARITY BAZAAR - WE WILL BE THERE!

Hospis Malaysia is a charitable organization that offers professional Palliative Care to patients who are suffering from life-limiting illness, and who live within Klang Valley. Care extended by Hospis Malaysia transcends age, gender, culture, religion and social standing and is offered free-of-charge.

Not affiliated with any political, religious, governmental or private groups, Hospis Malaysia depends greatly on public and corporate support as its' source of funds. Besides donations received, the numerous fundraising events organised by Hospis Malaysia ensure a steady stream of fund inflow to enable continuous and effective running of the hospice. Funds received are managed by a team of council members who act, on a voluntary basis, as trustees of Hospis Malaysia’s funds while full time staff, headed by the CEO/Medical Director, handle the operational aspects of the hospice.

As part of the fundraising plan for 2009, a charity bazaar will be held on 26th April, 2009 at the car park area of our premises in Taman Seri Bahtera, Cheras. The charity bazaar will feature stalls and booths selling food items, accessories, clothes, books, decor items etc. Added attractions include short musical skits, auctions, interactive games, lucky dip etc.

DIY BEADING KIT FOR CHILDREN (SOLD)

CHILDREN BEAD PARTY

This kit enables the children to mix and match beads of different colours, shapes and sizes to form beautiful ribbon necklace. Ribbon is particularly chosen for this design as it does not need the usage of tools. Furthermore ribbons bring a soft and girlie effect to the little children.

Simply tie a bow with the ribbon behind their necks and they are ready to dance. It can also be easily converted into a bracelet just by straping a few rounds around their wrists. This is also an interesting way to teach the children how to tie knots as 1 knot is required on each end of the ribbon.

Suitable for children age 4 onwards. Adult guidance and assistance required.

DIY Kit includes:
1) A teddy bear
2) Varieties of wooden beads
3) Varieties of plastic beads
4) Silk cord for stringing
5) Ribbon
